An Afternoon at Powell Butte
Yesterday was a beautiful summer day here in Portland, so we took a hike up to Powell Butte. A few of my friends came to visit and we decided it would be a nice day for a hike. We set off for a local nature park called “Powell Butte” We entered the park from the entrance at 148th street.
Some of the trail was rocky, but other posts were other spots that were muddy. When we got up pretty high we could see some beautiful views through the trees. Finally we came to the top of the hill and found a beautiful view of Mt. Hood.
A little further down the road we came upon a visitor’s center. In front of the visitors center they had these tube-statues. Each tube represents one of the different sizes of pipes which supply water to all over Portland, Oregon.
The kids had a great time on the hike!
I will be bringing you more posts about things to do in Portland soon!
Thanks for visiting!
