Every time I write about wanting to visit a new country, it quickly becomes my favorite and Italy is no different! Italy holds great prestige in the hearts of many tourists. Rome as Italy’s capital, has great historic and religious significance. Surrounded by beautiful architecture and serene landscapes, you too would fall in love with the beautiful cities of Italy. Italy is renowned for its delicious cuisine and aromatic dishes. When I travel to Italy here are some of the places I can not wait to check out:
The Colosseum is a monumental Roman site. Gladiators and warriors used to battle and prove themselves facing their biggest fears in the Colosseum. Pantheon is the goldmine for historic realms. It has ancient tombs and Roman churches from the prehistoric era. The Roman Forum encapsulates the entire history of Rome. It has many Roman Temples and some significant government buildings. Piazza Di Spagna has a spread of Spanish Steps which is a famous tourist attraction.
Florence is renowned for its astounding beauty and magnificent cathedrals and churches. The Florence Cathedral, Cathedral of Santa Maria Del Fiore has a glorious architecture with an intricate interior and ornate décor. Uffizi Gallery has a collection of art display and Renaissance paintings and artworks on exhibit. Galleria dell’Accademia is an exemplary collection of Michelangelo’s sculptural artwork. Piazza della Signoria is present at the very heart of the city of Florence. It is the main square, which has the Palazzo Vecchio dominating the view.
Milan is the fashion capital of Italy. It has a massive Gothic Cathedral the Milan Cathedral, which is favored by most tourists. Brers in Milan is filled with alluring flowers and Botanical gardens. Pinacoteca do Brera is an art museum on display with fascinating collection of paintings and artworks. Sforza castle has a manicured garden surrounding the magnificent building. Once you delve inside the castle, you will see remnants of historic significance. Santa Maria delle Grazie is a church that houses Da Vinci’s Last Supper. Apart from that, the church is decorated with mosaic glass work and ornate marbles.
Mount Vesuvius has a hiking trail leading up to the inactive Volcano. It has vineyards and fresh wine available on its outskirts. The Naples National Archeological Museum has renowned art masterpieces intriguing the interest of many art fanatics from all over the world. Museo Cappella Sansevero is the house of sculptures. Cristo Velato (veiled Christ) is the most famous sculpture among all. Catacombe di Napoli is an underground chamber leading to mosaic lined walls and prehistoric artifacts.
This city is built on water. There is Grand Canal that takes you through the many historic buildings comprising Venice. When you go across the Grand Canal, you will notice the iconic the Rialto Bridge. It is the hub of all activities and shopping districts. Piazza San Marco is the Venetian square that has crowds of people admiring the beauty of the city. St. Mark’s Basilica is a grand Cathedral present within the vicinity of Piazza San Marco. It has intricate designs decorating the exterior as well as a museum present inside.
