Deepwood Estate in Winter
This past week I took a trip to Salem, Oregon to visit my step mom. I took the Amtrak bus down from Portland and then walked to the nearest bus stop. The bus wouldn’t be there for another half hour so I decided to check out the Historic Deepwood Estate while I waited. I had visit the Deepwood Estate once before the previous summer to take photos with my friend, Alicia. I remember from the summer that it had been full of beautiful flowers. January now and the flowers have yet to bloom, but it was still very beautiful.
The gardens are open from 6am-10pm, so you are free to walk around the grounds then. Later in the mornings they give out tours of the inside of the house. I was there at around 8:30 am and there was no one else walking around the grounds.
When this house was built in the late 1800s it was the most impressive of it’s time. It still looks like an amazingly impressive house to me.
Many people visit the Deepwood Estate to take photos and have weddings.
The Deepwood Estate in Salem, Oregon is a beautiful place to visit any time of the year! I am hoping that I can visit it again in each season to get photos to compare how it looks in each season! If you visit Salem, be sure to check out Deepwood Estate and while you are there – head over to Bush park, right next door which is also a beautiful place to walk around! Thanks for visiting!
